Job Summary
As our new Operations Supervisor, you will join the exempt, dedicated Management team in leading Elko Inc’s Winnemucca location, with supervisory responsibility for the Operations Department; drivers and dispatch operations.  The job location is at our Winnemucca office, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Acts as liaison, with assistance from the Director of Operations, between clients and customer operations for scheduling and maintenance issues.
  • Ensure drive assignments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor drivers to ensure they are "fit for duty" (uniforms, maps, wellness, etc.).
  • Monitor two-way radio for proper etiquette, assistance, and route deviations.
  • Ensure routes/schedules are satisfied.  Monitor charter requests, itineraries for HOS issues.  Distribute any changes for the routes to the driver.
  • Respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Post and award hold-downs for PTO.
  • Stay knowledgeable of the contracts to adhere to the terms and conditions of the contracts.
  • Coordinate early departures due to unexpected events on the mine sites.
  • Recommend disciplinary actions.  Provide supporting documents and investigate complaints from the clients.
  • Prepare and provide reports associated with contracts.  Provide notifications of all disconnect in service routes or charters in a timely manner.
  • Report all accidents immediately to the Safety Supervisor no matter how minor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 2-5 years of customer service supervisory/management experience
  • Working knowledge of state and local highway laws and regulations.
  • Ability to exercise considerable diplomacy, judgment, and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with company and other governing agencies.
  • Must be able to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Motivational focus and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Solid verbal/written communication skills.
  • Empathetic, with good listening skills.
  • Ability to make a quick decision.
  • Excellent personal appearance.
  • CDL desired or ability to obtain.
